Epic Semi Appoints George Apostol as President and CEO to Lead Strategic Growth and Global Expansion

LOS GATOS, California, August 20, 2024 – Epic Semi, a global provider of custom chip solutions, today announced the appointment of George Apostol as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Apostol succeeds Dr. Shafy Eltoukhy, who will continue as a board member and advisor to the company. Mr. Apostol’s role as CEO takes effect immediately.

With over 37 years of technical and senior management experience in leading the development of complex systems and silicon products, Mr. Apostol is set to drive the growth and strategic direction of Epic Semi. Under his leadership, the company will continue its commitment to delivering end-to-end solutions, from concept to high-volume production of next-generation semiconductor products. Epic Semi offers a comprehensive suite of services, including architecture, front-end, and back-end design, as well as the development of a robust IP portfolio and strategic standard products. Mr. Apostol brings decades of experience in silicon and systems design, including more than 20 years as a C-level executive leading strategic development and execution at both start-ups and large public companies. Prior to joining Epic Semi, he was the Founder, President, and CEO of Elastics.cloud, a pioneer in CXL switching products, which successfully exited through acquisition. His previous roles include Vice President at the Samsung Strategy and Innovation Center (SSIC), and leadership positions at Exar Corp, PLX Technology, Silicon Graphics, and Xerox PARC. He was also a founding team member of TiVo, BRECIS Communications, and Audience. A prolific inventor with several patents, Mr. Apostol holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
